Andy’s
mind started to fire up. Electric signals travelled
the course of his brain and temporarily mislead his
body into forgetting the unbearable pain searing from
his arm. Like an old automobile engine, Andy’s
body coughed and spluttered before eventually leading
him to start up. “You’re…!”
Andy screamed with a tone Lucifer would be proud of
himself. “You killed Heather! You bastard! I’m
gonna kill you, you bastard!”
Leyland
Rondel was a six foot three, twenty stone forty five
year old. He resembled a member of the Italian mafia
- cigar in one hand, neatly dressed in an Armani suit,
sitting in his office chair as if he owned the entire
world. In all honesty, Leyland was such a powerful man,
he could take the entire world at the click of a finger.
You didn’t mess with Leyland Rondel. His eyes
were menacing, piercing - like looking into two black
holes in the deep void of space. He had slick, medium
length black hair, combed back behind his ears, and
had grown a carpet of facial hair on his chin. “I
want my money Mr Amaratha” Leyland repeated with
a growl. “You know what I am capable of to get
it back. Your wife was just the beginning.” He
smiled callously as he saw Andy’s face shake with
fear. “Sandra! Anna! If you touch them…!”
Andy couldn’t finish his sentence. A twenty stone
fist heading for his chin was the last thing he saw.
The
drugs were still messing with Andy’s mind. In
his unconsciousness he was transported to another place.
He was in open air. He looked up to his blackened surroundings
and smiled. The stars lit up the night sky - it was
such a beautiful sight. Andy remembered taking Heather
out on a clear summer’s evening and watching the
sun set and the stars take over. He admired the world
he lived in. The beauty of nature reminded him of Heather.
She had a facial structure that formed the face of an
angel, with long blonde flowing hair that smelt as sweet
as the nectar of the plants. He often admired the way
Heather could talk to anybody she met, the ease at which
she could make a guy go weak at the knees, and the way
that she was completely devoted to him - or at least
that was what he thought…
