Terms and Conditions
If there is ever a
finished novel, it will be published in association
with Lulu, the world's
fastest-growing provider of print-on-demand books.
Each author will be
given up to 100 words at the foot of each page. This
can be used to say anything, as long as it is not
offensive or hateful.
The author's name
will be included at the foot of the page they have
written. This can be their real name, or a pen name,
or 'anonymous'. Their country will also be displayed.
Copyright of the book
and pages is owned by Novel Twists. However, each
page author is allowed to reproduce their own individual
page. Page authors have no claim on any money made
from the finished book.
All decisions relating
to the book (both online and hard copy), website,
and project, will be made entirely by Novel Twists,
not page authors.
Page Submission
Rules:
The story should be
kept suitable for a general audience. Pages containing
the following will automatically be rejected:
Submissions must be
emailed to Novel Twists within 24 hours of winning
the auction. If no submission is made within 24 hours,
the page will be auctioned again and negative eBay
feedback may be given.
You can submit your
page in any text format. For example: as a Word document,
text file, PDF file, as an email, etc.
You may be asked to
do an edit/redraft before you page is accepted. Novel
Twists may suggest an edited version of your page
if it conflicts with existing character/plot facts.
Your money will be
refunded if the submitted content is deemed unsuitable
on it's artistic merits (e.g. you have had a good
attempt, but your page just doesn't make sense).
Spelling, grammar,
paragraphing, etc, may be corrected by Novel Twists
if it is deemed necessary to do so.
Once your page has
been uploaded to the Novel Twists website, it cannot
be altered by you. It is also not possible for your
page to be deleted. Novel Twists may edit your page
during the course of the novel if continuity/grammar/spelling
problems are noticed.
The eBay/Paypal details
used when purchasing a page will be used to contact
you in the future if any royalties are due. It is
your own responsibility to inform Novel Twists if
these details change.
Any attempt to purchase
a page for the sake of ruining the story, advertising,
etc will result in the page being made available again
and negative feedback may be given.
Submissions are subject
to review by Novel Twists, and will only be included
if they abide by the rules. If an author submits content
that does not abide by the rules, negative eBay feedback
may be given.
If your page is rejected,
you are not entitled to reserve a page again, until
at least ten new pages have been written.
If you have written
a page which has been accepted, and in the future
you decide you no longer wish to be part of the Novel
Twists project, you may change your page details to
'anonymous'. You must request this before the hard
copy is published. Your page cannot be deleted.
Privacy:
Novel Twists takes the privacy of each author very
seriously. Your details will only be available to
Novel Twists, and to Lulu. Novel Twists will not publicly
disclose page author personal details.
Novel Twists reserve
the right to alter these terms and conditions if need
be during the progression of the novel.
